March 15, 2012 the vending industry will now have new requirement revised by Americans With Disabilities Act issued by the Department of Justice.

Regulations will be changed from no higher than 48”, instead of 54” and no lower than 15”, previously 9”. Along with the reach range requirements, side-reach and other accessibility requirements have been changed.

All regulations apply to local and state government, all public entities as well as private entities that offer public accommodations.

The operators will not have to undergo a renovation to existing machines unless the location replaces existing food, beverage or coffee machines.
